Region is probably best known for its array
of castles and monuments. Along the coast
lie Bamburgh, Holy Island, Dunstanburgh and
Warkworth.
Further inland you will find Alnwick Castle, famous
for its use as a film set for a number of
movies and television productions including
Harry Potter. Alnwick is also home to the
Alnwick Garden, one of the finest gardens in europe which was opened
by Prince Charles in 2002.
For all you shopaholics, there is the fantastic city
of Newcastle Upon Tyne. With Northumerland street and the Metro Centre
(the largest shopping centre in europe), you are sure to find exactly
what you're looking for whether it be fashion, food or gadgets.
As
well as shopping, Newcastle has some great restaurants and lively
nightlife. Other attractions include, the Baltic
art gallery, the
millennium bridge and the famous Queyside.
